ERTSAR 5T Challenge
The 5T challenge is a fun and practical Team Exercise to exercise logistical and related skills like communication, navigation and transportation.
Many teams can do this by planning and executing the mission objective. It's not to actually get the aid the community. But it's to practice and ensure we have the skills and logistical skills to do so. |
In this case, you take something like a "box of aid" and passing hands to get to a geographical location by walking or driving using cars, trucks, motorbikes, boats, and so on! (For example, in the 2010 Pakistan Floods, we took 10 boats, with engines and tons of medical and rescue gear with the deployed team.)
In search and rescue we may have to transport Medical and Rescue items as well as humanitarian Aid locally in our community or even internationally. Whole teams have to move and although it's often a 'support' role our Operators, need the skills and ability to move themselves and kit to the 'hot zone.'

MAY 2021
When we deliver aid, Pandemic PPE, Food, Rescue Gear, Medical Supplies and even personnel - we are practicing the 5T!
Members from ERT SAR are doing the 5T in May 2021. We may do it again later this year too!
Other teams can do it too! We are publicly publicising the rules soon! #5TChallenge #ERTSAR5T
