Dr Kari Jerge

Dr Kari is the Assistant Professor of Surgery within the Department of Trauma, Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery at her institution. She is double board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. She has a strong passion for trauma and critical care. Her interests within the field are prehospital outreach and education, disaster preparedness, injury prevention, tactical medicine and hemorrhage control. |
She is an instructor in ATLS and Tactical Combat Casualty Care. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Eastern Association for Surgery in Trauma, the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians and the International Public Safety Association.
Dr Kari is a general surgeon passionate about providing timely, objective expert opinions on medical malpractice cases on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants. She is known for a particular gift for translating complex surgical disease processes and surgical decisions into language understandable by legal teams and juries. She has achieved dual Board Certified in General Surgery and Trauma/Surgical Critical Care.
Dr Jerge has additional subject matter expertise elective and emergent general surgery, surgical critical care (ICU medicine), and trauma surgery. Her background includes extensive experience in pre-hospital care of trauma patients including care provided by Fire and EMS services before patient reaches hospital.
She has been in independent practice for over 9 years in a variety of settings including rural, private, and large academic practices. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the premier professional society of surgeons. She is also a member of several national societies including EAST, NAEMT, and AWS.
