ERTSAR maintains a trusted working relationship with Ontario’s emergency management partners, including the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre (PEOC), municipal EOCs, and frontline police and fire services.
We operate in alignment with established incident command systems, supporting life safety, coordinated tasking, and disciplined field operations when required.
As a trusted partner and disciplined operator ERTSAR provides specialist training and resources to Government teams and other partners as well as First Nations.
ERTSAR augments and builds in synergy with government or municipal emergency services. We have a specialist capability that integrates professionally when requested and adds value through trained, qualified and coordinated people, disciplined deployment standards, and interoperable communications. We are trusted because we operate predictably, document properly, and respect incident command and the authority of host agencies with many of our members coming from serving or former emergency services and military background.

Professional relationships are built long before emergencies
We acknowledge and appreciate the leadership demonstrated by the Ontario Government at all levels. Their proactive and collaborative approach strengthens preparedness across the province.
Through joint exercises, real-world deployments, and initiatives such as the G.O.A.L. (Global Operators and Leaders) Symposium, one of several interagency conferences we have co-hosted in recent years, we have strengthened interoperability across agencies and reinforced a shared culture of readiness.

⬅️ This was one of the G.O.A.L. (Global Operators And Leaders) symposiums we co-hosted at the PEOC (Provincial Emergency Operations Centre) in Toronto which Deputy Minister Bernie Derrible opened. Were were also very grateful that The ADM (Assistant Deputy Minister) Heather Levesque also spoke at the event which also featured our Indigenous communities & First Nations partners.⬇️

Our teams understand the operational tempo of PEOC and EOC environments. We integrate effectively into coordinated provincial and municipal responses, contributing field capability while fully respecting host authority and established governance structures.
We are proud to operate in a province that demonstrates strong leadership and a visible commitment to public safety, preparedness, and collaborative emergency management at the highest levels.
ERTSAR’s multi-role Rescue Ambulance and Mobile Operations Unit, providing frontline support and a fully self-contained Base of Operations (BoO) for incidents ranging from major incidents, disasters and missing persons.
Equipped with advanced medical capability (AED, oxygen, stretchers, trauma systems) alongside mission-specific rescue and operational equipment (e.g., chainsaws, technical gear, mobile command/IC support), it usually deploys with Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, Fire Rescue, SAR, and Police professionals.
Strategically positioned west of the GTA with rapid access to provincial coordination, Rescue 31 integrates seamlessly with EMS / Paramedics, Police, Fire and Emergency Management as a specialist surge-capacity and training partner; supporting operations without burdening local resources.
POLICE MARINE UNIT SPECIAL OPERATIONS
Our ERTSAR Amphibious Specialists were also cross train with specialist agencies like the Peel Regional Police Marine Unit in Mississauga and Lake Ontario along with the Royal Canadian Air Force SAR (Search and Rescue) Technicians!
This helps all teams learn, build capacity and partnerships for enhanced public safety.
BRACEBRIDGE FLOODS
Our ERTSAR Amphibious Specialists were called by the province to deploy to many disasters like hydrometeorological events.
Flooding is one of our specialties and we teach other teams how to deploy and manage such hazards and disasters as well as other emergencies.
⬅️ This TV News report was an example where we were embedded with the Bracebridge F.D. run by the incredible Fire Chief Murray Medley and his CEMC Deputy (now Chief) Jared Cayley.
PIKANGIKUM FIRST NATION FLOODS
Our ERTSAR Amphibious Specialists were also called to support the First Nation community in Pakangikum during massive flooding which threatened their community on North West Ontario.
⬅️ This short video captures a day or two of the couple of weeks spent there with IFNA (Independent First Nations Alliance), and the Band Council and Leaders.
